Look what I found at a second hand store!

It's a Japanese steamer. I made some buta-man (pork in a bun) with it but I think I made them too big; they stuck to the sides of the steamer. It has two levels for putting the buns in. Then you place it over a large pot of boiling water and it steams the buns. These had pizza filling so they were actually pizza-man. I have also made some with apple and cinnamon sugar inside. Those are called ringo-man. Such fun. We went down stairs and watched Kungfu Panda while we ate.

How cool! I love second hand stores. Our local Salvation army receives brand new items from Target. It's great! At the DI I found 3 hat looms that a regular $20 I got for $1.00! We should make something in this cooker at Christmas time.

what an awesome find! I have made a new friend out here who is a professional chef with a really fun blog. Bread is her passion!

She gets a little silly from time to time, but she has some wonderful bread recipes. We particularly love the 5 day bread.

Hey! I just wanted to say wow! I honestly have never used one of those steamers, but would love to try one! Kung Fu Panda is one of our favorites around here. Funny you mentioned it and then Lisa mentioned the 5 day dough (which has a few references to that movie). I look forward to seeing you visit again! It looks like I have found another kindred spirit. Oh, and thank you so very much for listing me on your blog. I'm sincerely honored.

One man's trash......
I love second hand finds. I especially love used books with wrinkled pages and notes in the margin. All of my books were soaked to oblivion when the firemen were fighting our fire, so I've got go find a good avenue for book replacement. I've ordered a few online, but it's not the same as your own copy that falls open to your favorite part. P.s. We just read Pride and Prejudice for Book Club, it got mixed reviews, but we had a good discussion. All we lacked was some clotted cream.
